How Anglican is the ‘American Anglican Council’?

American Anglican Council and packet lies.

The Rev. Canon Phil Ashey of  the American Anglican Council works hard to make everyone aware just how horrible The Episcopal Church is and how they ought to run from it as fast as possible.  In the AAC “International Update” dated April 23rd(an email post) he swings into a report on his participation in the GAFCON executive committee meeting by dropping the following pack of lies:”Among the things we often hear from leaders in the Anglican Communion – from the Archbishop of Canterbury, to the Anglican Communion office, to the Anglican Consultative Council – is that our Anglican Communion is one of “autonomous provinces with mutual accountability.” The autonomy of provinces like the ones in North America is quite evident, as they reject the truth of the Bible – including rejection of the heart of the Good News, that Jesus Christ is Lord of all people and all lives, including our sexuality, marriage and leadership in the church. In rejecting this Biblical and Anglican Communion teaching through the consecration of partnered gay and lesbian bishops, same sex blessings, and even promoting such heresies as the claim that Jesus Christ died without rising from the dead, they have promoted false gospels in utter and reckless disregard for the rest of the Anglican Communion.”

The core item is, ” The autonomy of provinces like the ones in North America is quite evident, as they reject the truth of the Bible – including rejection of the heart of the Good News, that Jesus Christ is Lord of all people and all lives, including our sexuality, marriage and leadership in the church.”

Now this is not a charge that some of the leadership, or that some individuals, reject the truth of the Bible, but rather that the Province does.

This is rot, pure and simple. Enough said.

The rest goes quickly in the trash.

This article, by Fr. Mark Harris on his web-site Preludium, reveals the extent to which dissenters from TEC’s eirenic polity on matters of gender and sexuality is being undermined in the U.S. by the self-styled American Anglican Council – an affiliate of GAFCON, ACNA & ACI in North America.
Here is one of the outrageous claims made by Mr. Ashey in his tirade against the national Episcopal Church”
” The autonomy of provinces like the ones in North America is quite evident, as they reject the truth of the Bible – including rejection of the heart of the Good News, that Jesus Christ is Lord of all people and all lives, including our sexuality, marriage and leadership in the church.
The tenor of such a statement, claiming that TEC, as a national Church, is ‘promoting such heresies as the claim that Jesus Christ died without rising from the dead… and false gospels in utter and reckless disregard for the rest of the Anglican Communion’, is surely and manifestly untrue – to the point of criminal libel. How does this help the rest of the Anglican world take the claims of the dissidents seriously?
